FDOT Roadwork in Key West

Update provided on August 18, 2023, on FDOT work on South Roosevelt Boulevard.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) began work on South Roosevelt Boulevard on Monday, January 30, 2023, from Bertha Street to the end of Smathers Beach.

Drainage installation and pump station work continues. Demolition of the promenade is ongoing. Traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction, and access to residences and businesses will be maintained throughout the project. There is no on-street parking.

The Promenade is currently closed. For access to Smathers Beach, please use one of the three crosswalks that connect to beach stairwells.

Please stay alert and use caution when traveling through the area. The construction schedule may change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
