During this week's meeting, Mayor Teri Johnston and the City Commission lauded the 12U Key West Baseball All-Stars for their amazing season.
The Key West 12U All-Stars claimed the Cal Ripken World Series State Championship with a 13-0 victory on their home diamond at the newly remodeled Clayton Sterling Complex.
It’s been 26 years since Key West won a 12U state tournament at home.
The proclamation congratulates Coaches Juanito Menendez, Tyrone Cervantes, Jorge “Kiki” Lopez, and Aiden Vernetti.
The accomplished team players are Brice Barth, Sam Boa, Tyrone Cervantes Jr, Kaine Dickerson, Jayce Fernandez, Sawyer Hill, Nikodem Prokurat, Reef Rella, Kaden Savedra, Nicholas Talpasz, Leo Thibault, Mason Waldner, William Wickers, and Batboy Austin Lopez.
