Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority (FKAA) Roadway Construction on South Roosevelt Blvd.
FKAA Wastewater Force Main Improvements - Project # 4090-21
The Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority has scheduled the project to replace the aging sewer pipeline infrastructure along South Roosevelt under the roadway pavement. To accomplish this work, FKAA has hired Key Honey Contracting and has coordinated with the City of Key West, the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), and the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). It is critical to complete the sewer pipe segment on South Roosevelt adjacent to the Navy Facility within the next two months so that it is completed before an upcoming FDOT Roadway project that will include a 5-year moratorium on roadway paving.
On Monday, October 31, the Contractor (Key Honey Contracting) is scheduled to begin set up of Traffic Control Devices in the two North Bound Lanes for the Construction of approximately 840 linear feet of Sewer Pipe, which will require open-cut excavation and trench paving. The Contractor will begin working at the fork of Overseas Highway and South Roosevelt Boulevard and make their way south along South Roosevelt towards Duck Avenue, where they will cross the road to Duck Avenue to terminate the sewer pipe into an existing sewer manhole. This segment of the project is planned to be from 10/31/22 through 12/10/22. The City of Key West Police will be on-site to maintain traffic and work extended hours to complete the project within this time window.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation during this project.
