The City of Key West and Elected Officials are hosting a Public Workshop to discuss the Bahama Village 3.2 Acres and Affordable Housing.

Thursday, May 13, 2021

The City of Key West and the elected officials are hosting a public workshop to further gather community input on the Bahama Village 3.2 acres set aside for affordable housing. This workshop is vital to gather the input on how the immediate residents and businesses feel the development will affect them.
The workshop begins at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 13th and lasts until 8 p.m. It will be held in the Frederick Douglass Gym at 111 Olivia Street and a light meal will be included.
In order to get the best feedback from everyone in the community, the workshop will, after an overview, break out into small groups and discuss a variety of topics, including the project’s timeline, affordable home ownership opportunities, and the connecting of the project to Bahama Village and the Truman Waterfront and beyond. Participants will also explore how the 3.2 acres and the diesel plant could be related.
“We strongly urge the community to attend,” said Interim City Manager Patti McLauchlin. “This project is in the heart of Bahama Village, and we need to know what the residents envision.”
