City Seal

During the March 4, 2023, City Commission meeting, City Manager Patti McLauchlin presented Alfred Phillips with a plaque to honor his years of dedicated service to the City of Key West.  Phillips is retiring after serving as the Facilities Management Teams welder/fabricator for over 11 years.

“Al has welded or fabricated anything you can think or imagine over the last decade,” said McLauchlin. "From fences to gates to basketball poles, stairs, monuments, all sorts of metalwork to fix a problem.  Anything you can think of, Al can weld."

She said that Phillips had received compliments from City staff and community members praising the quality of his work.

“Al has been an amazing asset to the City of Key West for over 11 years,” she said, “and we wish him the best in his retirement.”
