Rod Delostrinos has spent over 37 years in public service. He served 22 years in the United States Army in positions of increasing responsibility providing technical expertise and leadership in the maintenance/ logistics field both nationally and globally in various regions in Central/ Southeastern Europe, Central America, the Middle East, and East Asia. Upon military retirement in 2009, Rod returned home to Key West and was hired as the City of Key West Deputy Director of Community Services, eventually being promoted to Director. In 2017, he joined the Transit Department as the Director of Transportation. During city crises, Delostrinos serves as the City of Key West Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Logistics Section Chief. Rod was appointed as an Assistant City Manager in April of 2025.

Committed to helping his fellow veterans and their families, Rod has served as Post Commander, Senior Vice-Commander, Adjutant, and Trustee for the Southernmost Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3911 and Surgeon for VFW Department of Florida, District 5. He has volunteered with the Monroe County School District, American Cancer Society, and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Rod also coached a local AYSO team.
Delostrinos earned a master’s degree in public administration from Norwich University and a bachelor’s degree in business management from University of Phoenix. He graduated from Key West High School in 1987.
Rod and his wife, Denise have three children and one dog. He enjoys boating and Do-It-Yourself home projects.
