Ray Atkinson is currently the Growth Management & Transportation Planning Coordinator, a reclassification from his first position with the City as the Sustainable Transportation Coordinator. Ray brings a passion for innovative mobility solutions to the role. Born and raised in the Charlotte region, Atkinson gained international experience studying sustainable transportation planning and engineering in Denmark and the Netherlands through the University of Oregon. He truly walks the walk—embracing a car-free lifestyle as part of his commitment to sustainable urban mobility.
