Sergeant Revoredo Recognized for 20 Years of Service

Employee Recognition Posted on February 13, 2026

Revoredo-20 YOSThe City of Key West and the City Commission this week honored Sgt. Nick Revoredo for his 20 years of dedicated service to the Key West Police Department.

Sgt. Revoredo started with the department in 2006 as a patrol officer. In 2010, he transferred to the Marine Unit and took command of the City’s port security plan.

Chief Sean Brandenburg, who presented him with a plaque, noted that when the department faced a critical shortage of dispatchers, Sgt. Revoredo took the initiative to become trained and certified as a telecommunicator and stepped in during that critical time.

He then took the initiative to become certified with the Mounted Unit, making himself vital in both areas when there are staff shortages.

He was promoted to Sergeant in 2022 where he ran a shift and remained integral in port security. In December of 2023 he was named Sergeant of Special Operations where he oversees the mounted, K-9, and marine units.

In addition, Sgt. Revoredo is a certified academy instructor with specialized first aid instruction. He was named the Officer of the Second Half in 2007.

“Thank you to the family for the days, nights, and hours that could have been spent with the family,” said Chief Brandenburg, “were instead spent with us, protecting all of you.

“If you ask Revy to get something done, it gets done,” he continued. “There’s no ‘I’m sick, I’m tired, my pinkie toe hurts, or I need to go fishing.’ He gets it done.”

Chief Brandenburg said, in addition to being dependable, trustworthy, principled, and selfless, Sgt. Revoredo is “loyal to the community, the city, the department, and me. I couldn’t ask for a better colleague and friend.”
