During Tuesday’s City Commission meeting, Key West City Manager Patti McLauchlin recognized Christopher Coleman for, without hesitation, going above and beyond his normal duties by presenting him the Extra Mile Award.
Coleman, who works in public works, has been the man responsible for ensuring that the podiums and microphones in the Commission Chambers are sterilized after each speaker to ensure public health safety. He’s been diligent, efficient and professional since the task started when the meetings started being held live after pandemic restrictions were lifted.
“I’m very proud of all you’ve done,” said McLauchlin told Coleman. “You have the best disposition. Thank you for being an outstanding employee.”
