[ARCHIVED] Dumpsters in Paradise

Key West Solid Waste Coordinator Dee Dee Green has been working with local volunteer artists on a project she’s calling Dumpster in Paradise.

Today the newest work-of-art Dumpster was delivered to its new home on White Street.

Certified Lower Keys Plumbing sponsored the new Dumpster and City of Key West summer intern Daisy Fernandez-Virgen designed and started the painting. Artist Mary Spear finished it up, along with some brush strokes by Green.

Dumpsters in Paradise is a Keep Key West Beautiful program, looking to bring beauty to the island through art focusing or items that are normally seen as ugly but necessary eyesores.

Green thanked Waste Management for delivering clean Dumpsters to be painted and then delivering them to their locations.
