The Key West Fire/EMS Department, Lower Keys Medical Center, the North Carolina National Guard, and the Naval Air Station Key West participated in a hurricane evacuation exercise at the Boca Chica Air Field. Medical staff and paramedics learned the proper procedures for loading patients into a C-17 aircraft in the event an evacuation is necessary.
