Key West Police Chief Sean Brandenburg on Thursday swore in the Department's newest Sergeant, Sgt. Tiffini Peters.  The ceremony was conducted in the Commission Chambers of City Hall with the Mayor and City Commission in attendance.

Sergeant Tiffini Peters began her Criminal Justice career in 2004 when she worked for the Public Defenders' Office. Her academic prowess is reflected in the attainment of a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, and a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice, all earned at the University of Central Florida.

Joining the Key West Police Department in May 2009, she has held various roles such as Narcotics Detective, Road Patrol Officer, Field Evidence Technician, Accreditation Manager, Criminal Investigations Detective, Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Officer, Homeland Security Investigations Task Force Officer, and member of the Monroe County Sexual Assault Response Team.

Beyond her professional duties, Peters actively engages with the community, serving on the board of Christina's Courage, the Police Athletic League, and holding a past executive role for many years in the Key West Police Department's Love Fund.  Peters is committed to community service, particularly supporting youth during challenging moments.

Some noteworthy accomplishments include earning accolades such as Life Saving Awards, Unit Awards, and Chief's Commendations.  As she envisions a future of continued professional growth within the department, Peters remains dedicated to her lifelong home, the Florida Keys.
