[ARCHIVED] Lt. Colton Butler Honored for 20 Years of Service

During Thursday's City Commission meeting, Human Resources Director Bridget Flores honored several employees, including Key West Fire Lt. Colton Butler, for their years of service.  Butler has served the City for 20 years.

Butler was born and raised in Key West and comes from many well-respected Key West families.

Butler is a dive leader for the Key West Fire Department Dive Team and was instrumental in expanding the training program for the team and implementing new state-of-the-art equipment for shipboard fire rescues.

He is a member of the Department's Urban Search and Rescue team, focusing on rescue operations resulting from damaged or collapsed buildings.

“I was told he is the best dressed on the Key West Fire Department's softball team," quipped Flores.

Outside of his duties with the fire department, Butler is a devoted father of two beautiful daughters, one of whom has set a path to attend the University of Florida.

“Lt. Butler is a dedicated Key West Fire Department member,” said Flores.  "We are all so proud to congratulate him on 20 years of service."
